EastEnders fans were left making the same complaint during the latest trip to Walford
EastEnders viewers have been “threatening to riot” as Kat and Alfie Moon scheme to dismiss Tracey (Jane Slaughter) from her position at The Queen Vic following four decades of service.
During recent instalments of the BBC One drama, Kat (Jessie Wallace) purchased the establishment from veteran landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and her mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
Upon Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie) return from Spain, he was stunned to discover his wife once again working behind the bar.
On Tuesday (July 29), Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) approached Kat and Alfie seeking employment, though they lack the financial means to recruit additional staff.

Whilst examining the pub’s operational costs, Freddie swiftly spotted Tracey’s wages and mentioned that he earns half her salary whilst working for Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) at The Albert, reports OK!.
Freddie told Alfie: “Listen, Tracey is getting on a little bit now, she doesn’t want to be serving drunks for the rest of her life, does she?”.
Kat swiftly interjected: “She’s a legend, we would be slaughtered.”
Freddie added: “That’s why I am thinking less of a firing and more of a ‘thank you very much’ retiring”, whilst Alfie promptly concurred they needed to cut costs and was ready to terminate Tracey’s employment.
Alfie subsequently visited Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) to submit his resignation from The Minute Mart and suggested he hire Tracey as the shop’s new manager.
Later in the episode, Tracey revealed that Ravi had offered her a job but declined to accept the new opportunity. “I said no, I love working here”, she informed Alfie as he attempted to persuade her to leave her longstanding position at the pub.
Over a bottle of wine, Kat also tried to sack Tracey but ended up giving her the day off and a pay rise because she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Meanwhile, on X, EastEnders fans were ‘outraged’ over the potential departure of Tracey from The Queen Vic after four decades.
One individual posted: “Getting rid of Tracey? Oh no! That would be like the Ravens leaving the Tower. #EastEnders.”
A second commented: “If they sack Tracey we riot! @bbceastenders #EastEnders”, while a third declared: “All I’m saying is they better not sack ar Tracey #EastEnders.
“No no, you don’t understand, the way the whole nation would’ve been rioting if Kat and Alfie fired are Tracey tho #EastEnders”, added one viewer.
“Sacking Tracey would be a death wish. #EastEnders”, another viewer chimed in.
