As the ghosts and ghouls come out to play this Halloween, NI is home to some of the most spooktacular experiences – from Europe’s largest Halloween Festival in Derry or searching for paranormal activity in Crumlin Road Goal.

Boo at the Zoo

Join us this Halloween for a spook-tacular weekend of family fun on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October.

This October, Belfast comes alive with whispers from the other side. Every Thursday at 8pm, Frights by Candlelight invites you to step into the glow of flickering candles and lose yourself in haunting tales that will chill your spine and spark your imagination.

Kicking off on October 2nd with celebrated writer Dara McWade, each evening promises a different journey into the eerie, the uncanny, and the unforgettable.

Jail of Horror

Enter if you dare into one of Belfast’s most fearsome scare attractions!

Step inside the Crumlin Road Gaol this Halloween and face your darkest fears with this intense scare journey through the prison with only one way out. The experience includes a trip through D-Wing, an area of the prison highly associated with paranormal activity.

Please note:

  • All events take place in low light conditions – flat footwear must be worn.
  • Not suitable for those with heart conditions, epilepsy, or expectant mothers.
  • If you’re easily scared… this may not be for you!
  • Due to the historic nature of the building, the Jail of Horror is not fully wheelchair accessible.

Halloween at the Ecos Centre: A Samhain Feast with a Fright!

Slemish Market Supper Club invites you to our Halloween Feast in the hauntingly beautiful Secret Garden Café at the Ecos Centre, Ballymena.

Step into the shadows of People’s Park for one of the spookiest nights of the year!

The event will thrill and chill with a packed programme of spooktacular activities for all your little monsters to enjoy!

With a fire juggling display, a fancy dress competition, spooky walkabout characters, a kiddies funfair and live music – there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Follow the extended spooky illumination trail throughout the park and bump into some familiar characters along the way.

You can sink your fangs into some sweet treats or tasty hot food to beat those Halloween hunger pangs. The fun and festivities will finish with a fabulous fireworks finale at 8.15pm.

Haunted Wheels: Banbridge Halloween Roller Disco

Roll into the spooky season with the whole family at Banbridge Leisure Centre’s frightfully fun Halloween Roller Disco! Costumes encouraged – good times guaranteed!

Hallowe’en Ghost Tour of Armagh

An evening of Ghosts and Ghouls – be sure to book a place on the Hallowe’en Walking tours of Armagh. This Trail of approx. 75 minutes will be a mix of gruesome tales of days gone by coupled with a few surprises along the way.

Cover your ears if you don’t want to listen to stories of the grisly, fearsome characters or mysterious happenings of Armagh’s past. Tread the narrow streets lightly – you don’t know who is waiting to get you!!

The tour concludes with a choice of: hot whisky / hot port / drink of your choice at Red Ned’s, Ogle Street, Armagh OR ice-cream treat / speciality coffee at Mackles Ice Cream, Dobbin Lane, Armagh

Audio devices will be provided for the tour to ensure everyone can hear the guide from a distance.This tour is suitable for 13+ years of age. Those aged 13-18 must be accompanied by an adult (over 18).

Fireworks at The Lakes

The magical Halloween Carnival Parade from ‘Rushfear’ Shopping Centre returns on 30 Oct with a programme of fun and spooky activities, including appearances from some of your favourite frightful friends, free face painting and musical performances.

Cross the beastly bridge to Spooky South Lake for the breath-taking fireworks at 7.30pm.

Halloween Science: Doom it Yourself Live Science Workshop

The Armagh Planetscarium has been taken over by Madam Mayhem, the supervillain to the stars!

Using Armagh as a base, join her as she tries to create a Doomsday Device that will help her to take over the world! But her resident lab tech has gone on holiday. Her replacement, Dr Rok, a force for good from the Royal Institution, has other plans.

Will Madam Mayhem succeed, will Dr Rok bring her around to the wonderous ways of science, or will they go one step too far and destroy the Planetarium?

This is a live experiment show taking place in our Copernicus Hall.

Lisburn and Castlereagh

Laganvale Farm Pumpkin Patch

Our popular pumpkin picking event is back again! You’ll arrive at the farm and start your visit with the pumpkin picking activity – choose from our patch before scooping out the insides, drawing on your designs and letting our friendly team of carvers finish the job for you. We grow our own pumpkins here on the farm so we have several different varieties to choose from.

Once you’ve finished your lantern, you can enjoy the activities around the farm including our creepy maize maze, spooky story-telling, visiting our animals along the farm walk or playing on pedal tractors and go-karts.

We will also have a selection of hot and cold food and drink available and picnic space.

Fright Night Flight at Hinch Distillery

One night a year, the wall between realms thins and spirits fill the air.

On the 31st October, All Hallows eve step into the distillery in the dark, sample spirits past and present from the shadows of the warehouse, ghoulish grub from Era events to feed the hoards, wash it down with bewitching beers from Get ‘Er Brewed.

From Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November, visitors can enjoy a spellbinding mix of workshops, performances and outdoor adventures:

Located outside Belfast, Streamvale’s website says is is the “original and best pumpkin patch experiences in Northern Ireland.”

Also featuring a Broomtastic Disco, Haunted House, Tractor & Barrel Rides, Cuddle Times, Indoor & Outdoor Play Areas and more.

It will be open on October 4 and 5, and from October 10 to 31, with sessions lasting 3.5 hours.

Newry, Mourne and Down

Spooktastic Downpatrick – Halloween Festival

Annual mini Halloween event in Downpatrick, family evening of Spooktacular fun with many spooky things to come and see and interactive with.

Live dance, spooky trail, fancy dress parade (meeting at 5pm in Saint Patrick Centre for registrations and then parading at 6pm, undertakers workshop and witches den/graveyard, reptile display, ghost stories, spooky walk in Downpatrick ending with grand finale Firework display 8pm.

Footsteps in the Forest

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is delighted to announce the return of Footsteps in the Forest to Slieve Gullion Forest Park.

This year’s programme will run from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 October 2025, offering residents and visitors an unmissable opportunity to step into the spirit of Samhain.

The festival will once again celebrate the Gaelic festival of Samhain, marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, with Slieve Gullion Forest Park transformed into the ‘otherworld’. Visitors will encounter a spellbinding blend of immersive storytelling, captivating characters, spectacular illuminations and seasonal treats set against the park’s hauntingly beautiful landscape.

Halloween in Newry City

Spooktacular Fun at Newry Halloween Twilight Market! Get ready for thrills, chills, and plenty of family fun this Halloween as Newry Halloween Twilight Market returns on Friday 31 October 2025 at the Newry Variety Market, from 5pm to 10pm.

Hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, this frightfully good evening will transform the historic market into a Halloween haven, packed with entertainment, activities and seasonal treats for all ages. The Halloween Twilight Market at Newry Variety Market is always a highlight in our events calendar. It brings people of all ages together to enjoy food, music, crafts and plenty of spooky fun.

From spooky carnival games and Halloween arts and crafts to a fancy-dress disco, there will be plenty to keep the kids entertained. Little ghouls and goblins can also enjoy a scary scavenger hunt, have their faces painted, and dance at the children’s disco.

Music lovers are in for a treat too, with a fantastic line-up of live performances throughout the evening – details yet to be released!

To make sure no one goes hungry, the Market will feature a Food Village and licensed bar, while shoppers can browse a wide selection of local produce and crafts at the Artisan Market. Adding to the atmosphere will be walkabout characters and a frightful makeover of the Market itself, setting the perfect spooky scene.

Halloween Pumpkin Fest – Mountpanther Farm Park

Located outside Clough in Co Down, this is by far the biggest event of the year at Mountpanther.

They have a jam-packed itinerary of activities, spooky surprises and of course pick your own pumpkin in our pumpkin patch and have it carved whatever way you like.

It’s open on Saturday October 11, 18, and 25.

Halloween Donkey Date Night at Kinedale Donkeys

Welcome to our spook-tacular “Halloween Donkey Date Night” at our enchanting farm in Ballynahinch! Get ready for a unique and unforgettable experience as you spend a delightful evening with our bewitching donkeys.

The event kicks off with a hauntingly fun speed dating session, where you will have the chance to meet our donkeys, dressed in adorable Halloween costumes. Following your speed-dating meet, feed and cuddle the other farm residents including goats, chickens and rabbits.

Samhain – Halloween at Ulster Folk Museum

Long before fireworks and trick-or-treating, there was Samhain – the ancient Celtic festival that originated in Ireland, where Halloween truly began. This October, experience Halloween for real at the Ulster Folk Museum.

In times past, it was believed that during Samhain the veil between worlds grew thin, allowing spirits, fairies, and other supernatural beings to slip into our realm. Masks were crafted and worn to ward off these malevolent forces. Create your own nature mythology mask with Annan’s Arch using foraged natural materials and specialised fabrics. Will your mask keep the ghouls away?

Discover the origins and traditions of Samhain, meet suspicious characters and encounter their uncanny tales. You can also help solve a murder mystery! Listen to Irish language storytelling (Scéalaíocht i nGaeilge) with Aodán ‘Jaff’ Mac Séafraidh. Get hands-on at craft stations, hear spooky stories for the little ones, and look out for the Armagh Rhymers, dressed in traditional masks and costumes.

As always, you can explore authentic exhibit buildings and meet talented makers who will be demonstrating their crafts. Visit Tea Lane, the Bank House, and the Parochial Hall to sample traditional foods such as colcannon, barmbrack, and apple pie.

Located in Newtownards, their Pumpkin Patch is set to open once again for the spooky season.

Whilst your pumpkin is being carved, you can go on an adventure on the Halloween trail around the Fairytale Forest to discover some hidden surprises. Families can also toast marshmallows, and craft your own slime to take home.

Hallowe’en at Ulster American Folk Park

Go back to a time of true traditions, superstitions, and lore at the Ulster American Folk Park this Hallowe’en! Delve into the history of our spookiest season, and discover how the people of rural Ulster celebrated Hallowe’en traditions centuries ago. Find out how the same traditions were carried across to America – before becoming the Hallowe’en we know and love today!

Have a go at dressing a scarecrow, listen to tales of lore and misfortune, give barn dancing a go, admire the sights of harvest and taste delicious Hallowe’en fayre like apple tart. Get involved with crafts, face-painting, and family-friendly activities plus a Hallowe’en trail for little ones to follow.

Hallowe’en Torchlight Tours at Ulster American Folk Park

The Ulster American Folk Park’s Hallowe’en Torchlight Tours return this October!

It may have been some time since you last went trick or treating, so brush up on your old songs and rhymes as you go door to door – just as in days gone by. Along the way you’ll encounter curious characters. Some will welcome you in, others… not so much.

Choose from family-friendly tours or adults-only tours (18+) – Tours run every 15 minutes. This is an outdoor event which lasts approximately 1 hour.

Halloween Fireworks Enniskillen

Enniskillen Halloween Fireworks are back for 2025!

The spooky fun commences at 5pm with the fireworks display at 8pm.

Creep it real this Halloween. Join the frightful fun in Dungannon with a variety of spooktacular activities and performances to entertain all ages including:

Halloween Hooley returns to Maghera Leisure Centre with family friendly activities including funfair rides, Toy Set/Carousel, trampolines, bumper cars, music/DJ, Jump Jiggle and Jive Dance, face painting, magic show, soft play, bouncy castle and games.

The fun runs from 4pm – 7pm.

The evening will finish with a spooktacular fireworks display from St Patrick’s College Playing Fields at 7.30pm (gates open at 7pm).

Halloween Coalisland

Treats, crafts & not-too-scary thrills – Halloween fun for the whole family!

Roll on down to Coalisland for goulish fun with a free Roller Disco (ticket required) and a fancy dress disco, taking place in the Parochial Centre from 2pm.

Roller Discos will take place at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

Fancy Dress Disco will take place from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

A Gaming Bus will be located outside the Parochial Centre from 3pm-6pm.

The evening will finish with a spectacular fireworks display from Na Fianna G.F.C. at the earlier time of 7.30pm.

Fright Night at The Jungle

This Halloween, Fright Night returns! Sicker, meaner, and hungrier than ever. They’ve overhauled the infamous Woodland Trail with a brand new horror story, loaded with more jump scares and unlike anything we’ve dared before. And their 6 Scare Attractions? They’ve been infected with new terrors, twisted characters, and surprises you won’t see coming.

Halloween Happenings in Coleraine

Spooky Season is officially here as Halloween returns to Coleraine on October 29th & 30th! Join us at Ulster University from 6.30pm, where this free event will have fun for all the family with a variety of activities and entertainment!

Featuring live music, visitors can enjoy an array of entertainment and activities, fairground amusements, and a chance to meet terrifying characters at the frighteningly unforgettable spooky trail. Are you brave enough to enter?

The evening will conclude with a fantastic fireworks display at 8.30pm. Wrap up warm, grab your costumes and get ready to get your creep on!

There will be free parking at Ulster University and a free park and ride bus service will also operate from The Mall car park, starting from 6pm. Please note, normal town centre car parking charges will apply until 6.30pm.

Kids Halloween Chocolate Making Experience

Join The Chocolate Manor in Castlerock for the tastiest Halloween experience on the North Coast!

In this one-hour kids only experience, children will be guided by our resident ‘shockolatier’ to make three spooktacular Halloween themed chocolate creations using our finest Belgian chocolate! They will make and decorate their creepy creations. While their chocolates set they will be offered a refreshing drink before packaging up their tantalising treats to take home and enjoy!

The Chocolate Manor offers interactive and engaging chocolate experiences in our dedicated chocolate experience space in our premises in Castlerock.

There are 18 places for the Kids Halloween Chocolate Experience – children under 7 must be accompanied by one adult – there is no charge for the spectating adult.

Halloween Happenings in Ballymoney

Make your Halloween night go with a fright at Ballymoney Halloween Happenings!

Ballymoney’s the place to be on Saturday 25th October. Join us at the Showgrounds for a spooktacular night of family fun, including live entertainment, amusements and scary characters, completing the evening with a spectacular fireworks display!

Halloween Happenings in Ballycastle

The seacoast town of Ballycastle will return with its Spooktacular event on Monday, October 27th.

Families can enjoy a host of fun activities with stilt walkers, fire poi and much more.

Music will entertain the crowds from 7pm, ahead of the spectacular fireworks commencing at 8.30pm.
