Keith Duffy has confirmed he would be up for a Boyzone reunion tour – but only if his one crucial condition is satisfied.

The vocalist, who was raised in Donaghmede, Dublin, shot to stardom with Boyzone from 1993 alongside bandmates Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and the late Stephen Gately. The group shifted 6.4 million records in the UK alone and over 25 million albums by 2013 with chart-toppers like Baby Can I Hold You.

Their final performances took place between 2018 and 2019 during their Thank You And Goodnight Farewell tour, with Ronan recently hinting on BBC Radio 2 that 2026 “might be a year for Boyzone to maybe try and do something”.

The revelation sparked excitement amongst supporters, with Keith, 50, now responding to the comeback speculation directly.

Appearing on the Lewis Nicholls podcast, he remarked: “Wow. The million dollar question. We said in the 25 year anniversary tour that that was it. We are never coming back again – this is it, we are done.”

He continued: “And then we did this documentary (No Matter What) out of the blue and the response to the documentary has been phenomenal.

“So I can’t report any facts but what I can say is that Live Nation, who would be the biggest promoters in the world, have offered us a very inviting reunion tour. And as long as everybody agrees to it, there’s a very big chance that it might happen.”

However, crucially he revealed: “I personally have agreed to it with one clause.”

Next year will mark the ten year anniversary from when Keith teamed up with Westlife star Brian McFadden to form pop supergroup Boyzlife.

They have been touring since 2016 performing the classics and discussing his one condition for rejoining Boyzone, Keith disclosed: “I will agree to do it but myself and Brian have worked too long and too hard with Boyzlife, the brand, the music, the touring, to neglect Boyzlife to do Boyzone.

“So I said, whatever happens fine, but we need to have some thought of an inclusion of Brian in some form or fashion. And if they agree to that, from my side, it could possibly work.”

Despite having spent almost a decade performing together, some people still think Boyzlife must be a tribute act, even those who purchase tickets.

Speaking to The i Paper, Brian said: “We did a gig in Scarborough last year. And the actual dude who was running the place said when I walked in, ‘God, you look really like Brian McFadden.’ I said, ‘I am f***ing Brian McFadden!’ ‘What are you doing here?’ ‘I’m performing!’ ‘Oh shit, I thought it was a tribute.’ And that’s nine years later.”

Before they decided to collaborate, Keith and Brian made a promise to each other, and that was to include a tribute to Stephen Gately, who died of a pulmonary oedema caused by an undiagnosed congenital heart defect in 2013, in every show.

Providing more details on The Six O’Clock Show, Keith revealed: “Brian and I made a pact when we first got together that we would try our best to keep Stephen Gately’s memory alive within the music business.

“So every night we do a little speech about Stephen. We ask the audience to remember their favourite memories of him and we dedicate the song to him and we sing it for him and it’s No Matter What.

“It’s just a beautiful part of the show where everybody gets out their phones and we light up whatever venue we are in.”
