The man was initially stopped by police on Thursday morning for not wearing a seatbelt
A man caught driving while banned and uninsured gave police a fake name and pretended to be 20 years older when caught.
The van driver was stopped by the PSNI in Belfast on Thursday morning, September 11, for not wearing a seatbelt. It was then discovered the vehicle did not have a valid MOT or road tax.
The man then went on to give police a fake name and date of birth – pretending to be 20 years older than he actually was.

Posting on social media about the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Road Policing Officers from Mahon Road Station stopped the driver of this van in Belfast this morning for not wearing a seatbelt. The van also had no MoT or tax.
“For over 20 minutes, he gave a false name and date of birth, pretending he was 65 when he was actually 20 years younger. The reason for this – he was disqualified from driving until tested and had no insurance.
“The driver knew the game was up when we called him by his actual name, and he replied to us.
“The driver will be reported to the PPS for a number of offences and will have his day in court, along with the owner of the van, for allowing the driver to drive it.”
