Emmerdale fans have ‘worked out’ Tracy Metcalfe’s exit storyline following the news of actress Amy Walsh’s pregnancy
Emmerdale viewers reckon they’ve sussed out Tracy Metcalfe’s departure plot after news emerged of actress Amy Walsh expecting another baby.
Tracy made her debut in the beloved Dales a decade ago in 2014. It wasn’t long before the character found herself embroiled in the ITV soap’s trademark drama.
From explosive rows to romantic entanglements, Tracy has been at the centre of numerous major plots. This has been particularly true over the past year, following the tragic loss of her husband Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), reports the Daily Star.
Viewers will remember that Nate met his end at the hands of John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), who concealed his crime by disposing of Nate’s remains in a river.
Nate’s body was later found this year, leaving his family and friends heartbroken. Yet the scheming John successfully pinned the blame on someone else entirely.
Off-screen, actress Amy has recently delighted fans with some wonderful personal news. The soap star revealed she’s expecting baby number two with spouse Toby-Alexander Smith.
Amy shared the announcement on Instagram through a black-and-white clip soundtracked by Nick Drake’s ‘Northern Sky’. In the heartwarming video, she can be heard telling Bonnie: “Mummy and daddy have got a special secret to tell you.”
She went on: “Mummy has got a baby in her tummy. A baby sister or brother for you,” whilst the camera revealed a scan photograph being held by Amy, Toby, and Bonnie. Amy wrote alongside the post: “Smith/Walsh baby 2.0 incoming 2026.”
Now, with Amy set to take maternity leave from the soap ahead of welcoming her child, fans have ‘rumbled’ how her character exits the Dales – and it’s not looking promising.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, responding to Amy’s pregnancy announcement, one person posted: “So this means Amy will be taking a break from the show then.”
Another contributed and proposed: “I think when it comes out about John killing Nate Tracy will leave the village to start a fresh.” A third commented: “Yeah there’s nothing really keeping her apart from Vanessa.” Someone else concurred: “I thought that.”
