A suitcase, which is believed to have contained the little boy’s clothes and toys, was seized by gardai from the apartment in Donabate where the child’s mother continues to live
The tragic tale of a young lad, presumed dead in north Dublin, has taken a heartbreaking turn as it’s been revealed that he was changed from his pyjamas into his day clothes after his death and secretly buried with his favourite teddy bear.
It’s also come to light that a suitcase, thought to have contained the boy’s clothes and toys, was seized by gardai from the flat in Donabate where the child’s mother continues to reside.
Gardai also recovered a photograph of the boy, believed to have been concealed in the flat, following a search of the property.
This comes after the Irish Mirror disclosed that gardai were informed that the body of the boy was wrapped in a blanket, placed in a rucksack and carried to his secret burial place on marshy lands along the Portrane Road in Donabate.

Searches persist this week on the stretch of marshy lands that has been cordoned off as dozens of officers comb the area, which is around 4km from the block of flats where the child was last seen alive, reports the Irish Mirror.
The mother, who hails from Africa but has resided in Ireland since her childhood, continues to assert that the child passed away in his sleep due to natural causes.
Earlier, it was unveiled how the young lad remained in the flat for 24 hours following his death – and then was removed from the property the subsequent night, placed in a rucksack and covertly buried on lands over 4km away.
WE can now disclose that after his death, the boy was changed out of his pyjamas into his usual day clothes, wrapped in a blanket and placed back in his bed – until he was removed from the flat, put in a rucksack and taken to the site where he was secretly buried with his favourite teddy bear given to him by his foster parents.
The young lad’s parents had initially given him up for adoption, and he was placed with a foster family under the care of Tusla – the Child and Family Agency. However, when the boy was around 18 months old, his mother had a change of heart and he was returned to her and her then partner, the boy’s father.
Both the boy’s mother and his father – who hails from Ireland but has since relocated to South America – continue to be informally spoken to by investigators.
And sources indicate they are both telling the same story – that they found the lad dead in his bed, panicked and secretly buried him in the nearby marshy lands. Sources suggest the shallow grave the young lad was placed in was dug by hand.
Earlier, we disclosed that the mother, accompanied by her solicitor Martin O’Donnell of Morgan Redmond Solicitors in Swords and investigators, showed officers a new spot on the stretch of land last Saturday evening, where she alleges the lad’s remains were secretly buried.
The new search area is on the same stretch of land where the initial hunt began, albeit in a different location. Despite the ongoing efforts, no remains of the young lad have been discovered yet.
The investigation, led by Gardai from Swords Station, operates under the assumption that the boy is buried on the land.
However, there are concerns that his shallow grave may have been disturbed by wild animals like foxes, which have been spotted in the vicinity.
Insiders reveal that the Gardai are “certain the child existed but that the child is now dead.”
