Rory McIlroy is set to keep his luxury Florida mansion despite having a lavish property revamped in the UK.

The PGA Tour star has made a splash on the world’s greens and fairways this year, having clinched the career Grand Slam at the Masters in April. And he’s also been making major plays with regards to his family life with wife Erica Stoll and their five-year-old daughter Poppy.

The 36-year-old confirmed earlier this year that his Wentworth property was complete after substantial developments. McIlroy is said to have bought the sprawling estate in 2023, but has spent the last two years spending a reported £9million to give it a new lease of life.

Speaking about settling into the new home ahead of the Genesis Scottish Open, McIlroy said: “We came back a few weeks ago and moved into our new home in Wentworth and have been trying to settle in. It’s amazing what two weeks of a bit of detachment can do for you.

“Sitting there being with your own thoughts for a while. Yeah, it’s been nice to have this time to reflect and also to rekindle my excitement and enthusiasm for the rest of the year.”

Nestled in the heart of Surrey, McIlroy’s home sits in an estate which has been occupied by a number of famous faces and billionaires alike over the years. Fellow golfers Thomas Bjorn and Ernie Els have properties there at present, as do Kevin Pietersen and Andriy Shevchenko.

Meanwhile, the likes of Prince Andrew, Boris Berezovsky and even the former King of Thailand, Prajadhipok, have called the exclusive locale home at one point or another over the years. However, that’s not to say that McIlroy is set to sell-up his lavish stateside mansion in Jupiter.

Due to the demands of the PGA Tour and the amount of US-based events he will play in, it is expected that McIlroy will spend time at the home he bought from Els in 2012. Now thought to be worth an estimated £16.6m, the palatial 13,000-square-foot estate sits in the incredibly stylish Bear’s Club, and is kitted out with nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, as well as a state-of-the-art gym, a home theatre, a games room and a recording studio.

However, the Floridian piece of paradise isn’t the only property McIlroy has owned over the years. The five-time major champion also owns a vast abode in La Quinta, California, and has previously owned a stunning home in County Down.

Meanwhile, his international portfolio also extends to apartments in New York and Dubai. It comes as McIlroy and Stoll appear to have bounced back from their marital problems last year.

The Northern Irishman shocked the golfing world by filing for divorce from his wife last May, on the eve of the PGA Championship, only to dismiss the divorce petition a month later. Speaking to the Guardian about the change of heart, he said: “There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate.

“Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

McIlroy’s focus is now on this month’s Ryder Cup after a rollercoaster year. The world No. 2 saw early success at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM in February before clinching the signature Players Championship the following month.

A career Grand Slam followed in April, as McIlroy beat Justin Rose in a tense play-off at Augusta National to finally add the coveted Green Jacket to his collection of US Open, PGA Championship and Open Championship titles. However, McIlroy has struggled to win on the Tour in the months since, with his best outing after the Masters coming in the form of a T2 finish at the Scottish Open in July.
