ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ dead body in John Sugden’s spare room but it’s not Mack

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they know what John Sugden is hiding in the spare room of the cottage he’s holed up in with Aaron Dingle – and it’s not what you think

Emmerdale viewers reckon they’ve cracked what John Sugden is concealing in the cottage’s spare room – and it’s not what you’d expect.

John (Oliver Farnworth) has stirred up a fair bit of drama since his introduction last year. Recently, it came to light that he was behind the murder of Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) last year.

Further secrets were then unveiled for John – who has since tied the knot with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). However, John has resorted to drastic measures to keep his past under wraps.

Last week, he seemed to kill Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Fobb) after Mack figured out that John was responsible for Nate’s death. During a confrontation in the woods, John shot Mack with an arrow and then apparently finished him off with a large rock.

Since then, John has whisked Aaron away to a secluded cottage in an attempt to isolate him from his family, reports the Daily Star.

And in Thursday’s episode (August 28), enjoying the tranquillity, Aaron suggested that they should try to purchase the property – but the idea left John rather uneasy. Later on, things took a peculiar turn when John faked a call to the landlord to try and divert Aaron from the topic.

However, at the end of the episode, Aaron stumbled upon a locked door in the cottage. As he tried to open it, John appeared and persuaded Aaron to leave it be and walk away.

But it was evident that John was hiding something in the room – and now, fans believe they know what it is.

While some viewers speculate it could be Mackenzie’s dead body on the other side, others have a different unsettling theory. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, fans believe the cottage is actually John’s childhood home.

“Surely Mack isn’t in that locked room. But I do believe this maybe a room with John’s secrets that Aaron is going to find out very soon,” one viewer commented.

Another chimed in: “That house Aaron and John’s staying at is clearly John’s childhood home .. that room has no doubt got all John’s trophy’s of who he’s killed in it and I reckon it will reveal John’s mother was probably abusive and weird and he then killed her somehow.”

A third added: “So a locked door in that cottage got me thinking now who is locked in there Mack or Antony. Wonder if that’s John’s cottage he owns.”
