One stolen car was also crashed into lamp post in the same area

Horn Drive car tampering
Police in West Belfast are appealing for witnesses and information following the attempted theft of a vehicle and tampering of other cars.
Officers say they received a report at around 1.55am this morning, Wednesday, August 27, of an attempted theft of a car, which was reported to have been driven into a lamppost at around 1.40am. It happened in the Horn Drive area.
Residents told Belfast Live that the rear view mirrors were removed from their cars. Some bank and credit were also stolen.
“We are just devastated,” they said.
“Why take the rear view mirrors off so carefully? They also got bank cards and credit cards. But they have all been cancelled now.”
Another resident told Belfast Live: “We know of five cars so far. One of those were crashed. It’s absolutely madness.”
Sergeant McCaughey said: “The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing a dark-grey tracksuit and a black beanie, was then seen exiting the vehicle and making off towards Colin Glen Forest Park.
“In addition to this, we received further reports of other vehicles being tampered with in the area this morning and would ask that anyone with information that might assist with our enquiries – or who may have dash-cam or other footage – contact us on the 101 number, quoting reference 70 of 27/08/25.
“Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
“You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/.”
