A Coronation Street newcomer has ties to another soap and fans have been left speechless
Coronation Street fans are only just realising where they’ve seen Asha Alahan’s patient before, and they were on a rival soap.
Asha (Tanisha Gorey) has endured a difficult week following a distressing incident whilst on paramedic duty on Monday (August 25).
The latter portion of the episode revisited events from Asha’s perspective, revealing what triggered her panic attack outside the Rovers.
Viewers were offered a glimpse into the struggles encountered by NHS frontline staff as Asha and her supervisor, Sienna (Charlotte Tyree), commenced a 12-hour shift.
The pair dealt with a fatality and an injured elderly woman, before responding to a call involving an intoxicated woman named Naomi, who believed she had fractured her foot, reports Leicestershire Live.

Following treatment for an ankle sprain in the ambulance, the woman subsequently launched a brutal assault on Asha.
She hurled verbal abuse at her, before clawing Asha’s arm and hurling a bottle of wine at the ambulance.
In Tuesday’s (August 26) episode, an intoxicated Asha finally confided in Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) about her traumatic experience.
Lisa attempted to assist by encouraging the young woman to inform her supervisor about the incident.
“That’s disgusting. You know it’s a criminal offence… Asha, you have to report this,” the police officer declared.
The woman who verbally attacked Asha was portrayed by Melissa Batchelor, who notably featured on EastEnders earlier this year.
The actor notably played a character named Amelia, who first emerged in Walford in January.
Amelia notably showed Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) a video of her brother, Junior (Micah Balfour), from Christmas, before she was unveiled as a prostitute who had slept with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) for money.
Corrie fans were left gobsmacked after realising Melissa’s link to Albert Square, with many expressing their astonishment on social media.
“Omg wasn’t that woman who abused Asha on EastEnders recently?” one individual posted on a Facebook fan page.
Another chimed in, “Yes, she was,” while a third remarked, “Yes, she played that prostitute with Phil.”
Coronation Street airs at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV1 and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
