Melbourne artist Olza has released their new single sleepingpeacock, accompanied by a striking video that captures the track’s themes of anxiety, clarity and renewal. The clip places Olza against stark natural backdrops, including the image of plunging into a freezing lake — a metaphor for resilience, surrender and the jolt of creative awakening. Co-written and co-produced with Oly Bugg, sleepingpeacock emerged from a dream during a period of self-doubt. “Peacocks symbolise beauty and resilience,” Olza explains. “I had a dream about them at a time when I was doubting myself as an artist, and it became a way to remind myself to wake up, to use the beauty in my creativity to flourish.”
