Man charged with ‘administering a substance with sexual intent’ after Dunmurry kidnapping

A man has been charged with administering a substance with sexual intent and other offences, following an assault in Dunmurry. The 41-year-old is to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday in relation to offences which occurred over the weekend, including kidnapping and false imprisonment.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives in Lisburn have charged a man to court with a number of offences following a report of an assault in the Dunmurry area on Sunday 24th August.

“The man, aged 41, is charged with false imprisonment, common assault, kidnapping, administering a substance with sexual intent, and committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.

“He is further charged with supplying a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug, and possession of a Class C controlled drug.

“He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, 26th August.

“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
