While the rest of the world was consumed with “Love Island USA” for the past few years, I wasn’t. Reality TV is a guilty pleasure I indulge in sporadically, and I was too lazy to keep up with another love-centered series. But after much convincing from my cousin, I finally gave into the hype and started watching the cult-favorite show at season seven. From the imminent sisterhood of Chelley Bissainthe and Olandria Carthen to the unforgettable love triangle between Carthen, Taylor Williams, and Clarke Carraway, I had reasons to be locked in all summer long. This newfound fandom has led me to keep up with a few of the islanders post-show, especially where their beauty habits are concerned (I couldn’t help but test Carthen’s $6 lip combo).

I couldn’t stop smelling myself, and now I fully understand why everyone in the villa wanted to smell like Mustafa.

Huda Mustafa is another star who never strayed far from the spotlight, from her notable “mommy” moment to her signature freckles. She’s also earned a reputation for smelling good after receiving compliments from other islanders in the villa. At first, her go-to fragrance was falsely revealed when an AI-generated TikTok video went viral, in which Mustafa is shown talking about her favorite perfume. Shortly after the season finale, Mustafa cleared the air in an interview with podcast host Kirbie Johnson, stating, “I literally hate when people smell like me, so I have a million things that I put on — four different lotions, and so many things that make me smell good.” Though her routine is extremely thorough and sacred to her heart, Johnson managed to get the star to reveal two products from her fragrance routine: the Burberry Her Eau de Parfum ($150) and the Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion ($36) in the scent Noni. So of course, I had to try both products together.

What I Like About the Burberry Her Eau de Parfum and Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion

As a beauty editor, I’ve tried my fair share of perfumes and body products, and I can humbly admit that this combination is a new favorite. The lotion, which has a fruity scent thanks to its coconut milk and macadamia oil formulation, was satisfactory, but I wasn’t super obsessed with it on its own, being that tropical fragrances aren’t my go-to. Still, the lotion formed a great lather on my skin, and when I mixed it with the perfume, the resulting aroma was nothing short of a sweet fantasy.

The perfume has notes of blackcurrant, jasmine accord, and musk, which is what I suspect perfectly balanced the bold fruitiness of the lotion. It also contains remnants of dry amber, which brings a spicy edge to the fragrance blend, conjuring the feeling of getting ready for a night out. Seriously, I couldn’t stop smelling myself, and now I fully understand why everyone in the villa wanted to smell like Mustafa. The combo is just that good.

What to Consider Before Trying the Burberry Her Eau de Parfum and Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion

While the outcome of mixing these two products is absolutely divine, I will caution that the Pure Fiji body lotion may not be the best option for those who have dry skin. After some hours, my skin still smelled amazing, but it felt a little dry, prompting me to apply more lotion. For people with drier skin, I recommend trying the perfume with a lotion or body gel that’s more penetrating in texture with a similar scent so that you can achieve long-lasting moisture.
