A Coronation Street star could be set for a stint on a major reality show
A cherished Coronation Street actor has been backed for a place on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) has been a fixture on the cobbles since his debut back in 2006, alongside his twin sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey).
Originally portrayed by Zennon Ditchett, Adam assumed the role in 2020 – and it’s safe to say Aadi’s been embroiled in some intense storylines.

Particularly recently, as last month he mistakenly spiked Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) during a party.
Subsequently, in an attempt to resolve financial troubles he’d encountered whilst managing his father Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) enterprise, Aadi ended up planning a fraudulent robbery, reports the Daily Star.
Dev ultimately discovered the truth and was absolutely furious, so much so that he insisted Aadi leave the cobbles to relocate to India.
Recognising it’s time for a new beginning, Aadi eventually accepts and chooses to depart the cobbles.
Viewers have been bracing themselves for Aadi’s departure since April, when actor Adam Hussain announced that he had departed the ITV soap.
Posting on Instagram, he revealed: “Over the five years I’ve spent there, I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little.”
And now, actor Adam is being backed for a position on a major reality programme.
Bookmakers Betway are confident he will enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle later this year and spokesperson Mike Reading told us: “Adam Hussain looks set for a brand new adventure beyond Coronation Street.”
He elaborated: “With the I’m A Celeb lineup still firmly under wraps, we have priced him up at 7/1 to swap the Rovers Return for bugs, rice, and beans.”
There’s also a chance Adam could make an appearance on a competing soap, with bookmakers setting odds of 12/1 and 6/1 for him to appear on Hollyoaks and EastEnders respectively.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
