Viewers of Emmerdale will recall actress Sheree Murphy as Tricia Dingle in the ITV soap opera from 1998 to 2004, but were you aware she once appeared alongside Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst in a legendary episode of Only Fools and Horses?

The 49-year-old, hailing from Islington in North London, portrayed Dawn ‘the mugger’ in the Heroes and Villains episode of the BBC sitcom that aired on Christmas Day in 1996.

In the iconic scene, Councillor Murray (Angela Bruce) exits her office and walks towards her vehicle, but is confronted by a young woman. The enigmatic figure, named Dawn, enquires: “Sorry miss. You seen a policeman around here?”.

Murray curtly responds: “No, I haven’t” before a male voice then orders: “Good, giss your money”. A trio of men then attempted to steal Murray’s handbag whilst Dawn watched on with amusement.

Murray cried out for assistance, and suddenly, Del Boy (David Jason) and Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) emerge dressed as Batman and Robin, rushing to a party after their yellow van breaks down, reports MyLondon.

The pair comes to Murray’s aid as the gang stares on in disbelief and swiftly flees, leaving Murray with her handbag.

Del briefly conversed with Murray before he, too, hurried off and resumed his journey with Rodney to their mate’s fancy dress party, which had hilariously been transformed into a wake.

The Batman and Robin sequence is celebrated as one of Only Fools and Horses’ most unforgettable and amusing scenes due to the dodgy traders being dressed as superheroes.

In 1998, two years after her sitcom debut, Sheree Murphy secured the role of Tricia in Emmerdale, where she famously tied the knot with Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) in 2003.

However, Tricia’s story took a tragic turn the following year when a storm wreaked havoc on the village.

In harrowing scenes, Tricia was caught in the wreckage when the storm hit The Woolpack, leading to her being airlifted to hospital. Unfortunately, due to severe internal injuries, Tricia suffered a cardiac arrest and was declared dead.

After leaving the ITV soap in 2004, Sheree joined the cast of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in 2005, where she came second, losing out to journalist Carol Thatcher, daughter of Margaret Thatcher.

In 2010, she made her entrance into Hollyoaks as Eva Strong, a role she played until 2011, before taking on the character of Dakota Davis in Neighbours from 2014 to 2018.

Sheree also showcased her culinary skills in the 2015 series of Celebrity MasterChef, and a year later, she became the host of Yes Chef! , a cooking show that aired on BBC One.
