Aadi Alahan has been a key character on the cobbles since he was just a baby – but he has been played by three different actors, with Zennon Ditchett portraying the role for a decade
Coronation Street’s Aadi Alahan, originally portrayed by Zennon Ditchett, has seen a change in his life off the cobbles.
Aadi, the son of Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and the late Sunita (Shobna Gulati), was born in 2006 alongside twin sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey).
From 2009 to 2019, the character was brought to life by Zennon Ditchett, who was involved in several major storylines, including the heartbreaking death of his on-screen mum Sunita.

However, when Zennon decided to leave the soap in 2019 to concentrate on his studies, Adam Hussain stepped into the role in 2020.
This year, it was revealed that Adam would be leaving the soap, with the actor stating it was time for “pastures new” in an online statement about his departure. The long-standing show has recently begun setting the stage for Aadi’s exit, reports the Daily Star.
As for Zennon Ditchett, the original Aadi, he has embarked on a completely different career path. Zennon has traded acting for a position as a management accountant at REFY.
His LinkedIn profile picture shows him looking quite different from his younger self. Although Zennon’s Instagram account is private, fans can still see his profile picture.
Zennon appears to be enjoying a glamorous lifestyle, as evidenced by a photo of him shirtless on a beach wearing black shorts. His former co-stars, including Tanisha Gorey (Asha Alahan), Ellie Leach (Faye Windass) and Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow), follow the account.
Meanwhile, confirming his soap exit, new Aadi actor Hussain said earlier this year: “I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures,’ the actor penned, alongside a recent photo of the full Corrie cast.
“Over the 5 years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family! This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later!”
