Dunelm’s Colette Velvet Accent Chair boasts an impressive 4.9 out of five star-rating on the Dunelm website. One customer commented: “Beautiful chair. Comfy, stylish and priced well. Easy to assemble.”

Another shared: “Bought this to finish updating my daughter’s bedroom. She was thrilled with the colour, the material and the ease to assemble. Very good finish and was value for money.”

However, not every chair will be to everyone’s taste, and some customers left less favourable reviews for the Colette Velvet Accent Chair. One stated: “Attractive, small(ish) chair suitable for the bedroom. Looks very sturdy but not a lot of quality control. You have to attach the legs using screws provided through pre-punched holes into pre-drilled slots.

“In my chair one of the holes was not punched adequately so the leg is attached by only three screws. Still sturdy and fit for purpose but it shouldn’t be like that. There was also a very vicious staple sticking out from the top through the velvet, easily removed with pliers with no apparent loss of integrity of the velvet upholstery, but it shouldn’t be like that.”

They concluded: “Having said all that, ideal small chair at a very good price, so I would buy again if I needed another one.” Someone else added: “Nice chair but wrong colour.”

In contrast, a five-star review reads: “The chair more than lived up to expectations. The colour is perfect, blending with my bedroom colour scheme perfectly and the chair is very comfortable.”
