Police are investigating the incident at Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle
Police are investigating an allegation of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ at North Belfast church.
The PSNI have confirmed the investigation into an incident that allegedly took place at Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle following a report made to officers on July 21, 2025.
Police had previously issued a statement saying that following this report, “Officers discussed the matter with the reporting party and no criminal offences were recorded,” however in the days that followed this it is understood that investigation was launched into the matter.

The investigation relates to an incident that allegedly took place on the church grounds in the summer of 2023.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “On Monday, 21st July, police received a report of inappropriate behaviour. Enquiries into this are ongoing.”
Earlier this month police also confirmed they were investigating a report of a historic sexual assault connected to the church.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “On Thursday, July 3, police received a report of non-recent sexual assault.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
