EastEnders bad boy Joel Marshall is set to lash out at Kat Moon in upcoming scenes of the BBC soap
EastEnders is gearing up to showcase more distressing episodes for Joel Marshall (Max Murray), following his father Ross’s (Alex Walkinshaw) revelation about his absent mother.
Since making his debut in Walford earlier this year, Joel has been exhibiting concerning behaviour, including exposing his mate Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to adult content. He also recorded an intimate encounter with fellow student Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) and later shared the video with Tommy in a misguided attempt to win his approval.
Joel remains oblivious to the fact that Avani is now expecting his child. In another shocking incident, Joel assaulted a woman on the London Underground, with his stepmother, Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), resorting to paying off the victim to keep her quiet.

Joel has opened up to Tommy about his past, expressing his deep-rooted animosity towards women, stemming from his own mother’s abandonment when he was just a young boy. He had some harsh words about his mother, though he didn’t reveal her identity.
In the upcoming episodes of the BBC One soap, Ross, following Vicki’s advice, takes Joel and Tommy to work at the timber yard, reports OK!
However, hearing the coarse language of the other workers, Ross grows worried about their impact on the boys. Ross is taken aback when he receives a call from Joel’s mum and is tasked with informing his son that she is set to remarry.
Joel sneaks off to join Tommy at The Queen Vic, leading him astray by stealing alcohol from the barrel store.
Ross, Vicki, Alfie (played by Shane Richie), and Kat (portrayed by Jessie Wallace) confront Joel, but when he uses offensive language towards Kat, they are taken aback.
Ross and Vicki chastise Joel for his behaviour as Ross, the worried father, attempts to reach out to his challenging son.
Later, Ross and Joel find common ground over a video from Joel’s favourite influencer, which Ross initially sees as harmless. However, upon discovering something concerning on his laptop, Ross reacts by destroying it.
Following this, Ross becomes distant with Joel and decides not to allow him to accompany him to work anymore.
Vicki, on the other hand, is stunned when she learns why Ross destroyed the laptop, and she urges him to take a firm stance with Joel before his behaviour escalates further.
Ross has a meaningful conversation with Harvey Monroe (played by Ross Boatman), which gives him food for thought, while Joel apologises to Kat, who then allows him to spend time with Tommy.
Vicki and Stacey share a moment of camaraderie over parenting and men at The Vic, but an irritated Joel overhears them and reveals his true nature.
The identity of Joel’s mother has been kept under wraps; however, some EastEnders fans speculate that Zoe Slater (played by Michelle Ryan) could be the teenager’s mother.
Zoe, a well-known character, made a brief comeback in June and hinted at a secret she didn’t want revealed. She is expected to return to Walford later this year.
EastEnders has yet to reveal the identity of Joel’s biological mother, keeping viewers in suspense.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer
