A Co Tyrone school is giving John Lewis a run for its money this Christmas after releasing a heartwarming festive video celebrating the importance of community.
The Christmas advert, produced by talented pupils and staff at Fivemiletown College, has been widely praised after it appeared on social media this week.
School staff Andrea McNeary and Izzy Galloway came together to create a script and worked with Philip Anderson Films to bring the truly special project to life.

Entitled ‘A Christmas Note’, the video begins as a new pupil arrives at the school and discovers a message in his diary that reads: “Welcome to the Fivemiletown College family! Merry Christmas!”
The story then follows a series of notes being passed from pupil to pupil, to staff, and even to several well-known local businesses. The video ends with another new pupil entering the school, starting the cycle all over again.
Ms McNeary told Belfast Live: “The idea came about on a mad Friday in school and we just stayed on after with a cup of tea just to unwind and were bouncing the idea off each other to promote the school Izzy and I are both very happy colleagues here and we just wanted to showcase this.
“Social media is the way to go so we felt a video would be the way to go. And with Christmas we thought of John Lewis and we thought ‘let’s give them a run for their money’!”
Janice Allen, Principal of Fivemiletown College, said: “Our aim was to share a message of hope and togetherness, and we are delighted that it has resonated so strongly. Fivemiletown College is proud to be part of such a caring and connected community.”
Head Girl Ellie Lyons added: “The advert reflects the true spirit of our school, highlighting kindness, unity, and the importance of standing together. I am extremely proud to be Head Girl at Fivemiletown College, and I believe this advert shows the heart of who we are,” she said.
