Joel Dommett was forced to apologise after accidentally swearing during Friday’s live broadcast of I’m A Celebrity Unpacked.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’s companion show Unpacked descended into mayhem as presenter Joel Dommett was compelled to issue an apology following an accidental expletive.

The host’s regular broadcast was dramatically disrupted when he found himself under “attack” from a flying insect.

Throughout Friday’s live transmission, the former I’m A Celebrity contestant was chatting with Andi Peters and Kemi Rodgers following Alex Scott’s elimination as the inaugural celebrity to depart the jungle.

The live departures from the ITV programme have commenced, with personalities including Jack Osbourne, Ruby Wax, Eddie Kadi, Lisa Riley and Kelly Brook tackling Ant and Dec’s notorious bushtucker challenges, reports the Express.

Whilst they were analysing the episode on Unpacked, Andi suddenly cried out: “Oh my god!”

Joel then dramatically jumped from his chair as he began batting at a fly, yelling: “Ohhh f***ing hell, that’s massive.”

He swiftly regained his composure from the mishap, remembering he was broadcasting live.

“I’m sorry I swore,” he said apologetically, continuing: “That was absolutely petrifying.”

Kemi meanwhile remarked wittily: “That’s the jungle everybody, we are really in the thick of it aren’t we.”

“I’m so sorry, I’m so glad we’re not on ITV1 anymore,” Joel continued, whilst Andi jested: “And you’ve done this show! That was the best start to this show ever!”

Joel concluded: “Oh god, it was so close to my face. I’m really out of breath.”

Viewers were left in stitches, as one commented: “JOEL JUST GOT ATTACKED I’ve never heard someone apologise for swearing SO FAST.”

One viewer exclaimed: “It was brilliant,” while another queried: “How the hell did Joel Dommett survive in the jungle?”

“Screaming at Joel swearing on live TV,” chuckled another, with someone else mirroring: “Not Joel swearing on live TV.”

The Masked Singer presenter had previously participated in I’m A Celebrity in 2016, where he was the runner-up to Scarlett Moffatt.

He started hosting Unpacked last year, expressing his excitement: “To say I’m excited to do live jungle based telly again is an understatement! I really adore the spin off show and I’m so glad it’s returning for more in depth chats with A&D, the campmates and incredible guests.

“It’s going to have a different feel to it, giving fans of the show extra goss and juice. I started my TV career there and fingers crossed I won’t say the wrong thing on live telly and end it there too.”

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX, followed by Unpacked on ITV2.
