Cat Deeley looked stunning in a glittering gold dress on Tuesday morning’s This Morning, and the M&S metallic mini dress has seen a price cut for Black Friday
As the festive season approaches, Cat Deeley has shown that a new party outfit doesn’t have to cost a fortune. The 49-year-old presenter donned a gold glittering dress for Tuesday’s This Morning, and it’s priced at less than £20.
The fashionable host sparkled in a Metallic Mini Shift Dress from Marks and Spencer, which shoppers have praised as ‘standout’ and appearing ‘far more expensive’ than its price tag. The festive garment was already surprisingly affordable at £26, making it an excellent budget-friendly option for Christmas celebrations, but the retailer’s Black Friday sale has seen it cut to £18.20.
Described by M&S as ‘a party-ready piece’, this shimmering metallic dress features a glittering fabric. It’s designed with a comfortable regular fit in a classic shift shape, complete with a sleek round neckline and flowing long sleeves.
The slightly flared hemline falls to a playful mini length, which Cat paired with black tights and boots, further accentuating the waist with a belt. Gold is a popular choice for the festive period, with many high street retailers offering similar options that are nearly as wallet-friendly.
Over at River Island, the Gold Metallic Bow Back Mini Dress has been reduced to £34 from £44. Available in sizes 6-18, it features an open back with charming bow detailing, reports the Mirror.
Metallic Mini Shift Dress

This shimmering metallic dress is a party-ready piece with its luxe metallic finish. It’s cut to an easy regular fit in a classic shift shape, with a sleek round neckline and drapey long sleeves.
However, whilst gold flatters those with warmer complexions, like Cat, others might opt for silver this winter. If that’s the case, the Topshop sequin scoop neck mini dress in silver is £45 at ASOS. The dress features sequin-embellished fabric, and is also available in burgundy, which is amongst the trending colours this season.
Yet the M&S dress remains both the most affordable and highest-rated online, with customers praising its body-skimming silhouette and ‘understated shimmer’. One shopper wrote: “Such a lovely simple but standout dress. Will have endless wear from this.”
“Saw this dress and immediately thought Christmas,” said another. “The dress skims your outline beautifully and looks far more expensive than it costs. Well done M&S what a great design.”
Some have mentioned that it’s slightly short for their preference, although it does come in three lengths. They wrote: “I bought the dress for Christmas I like the quality colour design as I’m on the older side it is quite short, it will be okay with black tights.”
“Classic and simple, this sparkly dress is not too OTT,” a fourth commented, with another sharing: “Gorgeous little dress, the sparkle on this is lovely, not blingy a nice understated shimmer. I will get lots of wear out of this and fantastic price too. I’m tempted with the other colour.”
