The countdown to the biggest night of the year has officially begun

The Late Late Toy Show trailer has just dropped – and it’s out of this world.

Youngsters are preparing for the most magical evening of the year, with presenter Patrick Kielty and his crew of space explorers ensuring every child across Ireland and beyond is set for the Late Late Toy Show.

From Sneem to Sydney and from Dublin to Dubai, the clock is ticking towards the ultimate night of toys, giggles and Christmas magic.

Ahead of the December 5 show, the official trailer for the Toy Show has been released, whisking viewers to the command centre of a spacecraft orbiting Earth, staffed by children who beam Patrick up to help them make sure everyone is ready.

The preview celebrates the Irish community worldwide, with Patrick and his space crew ensuring youngsters in Sydney are just as equipped for the programme as those in London and Cork, reports the Irish Mirror.

A Late Late Toy Show spokesperson said: “Together, they are plotting their course for Friday, 5 December, preparing to launch the Toy Show into orbit! With plenty of festive sparkle, their mission is clear: to make sure the Toy Show’s magic reaches every corner of the universe.”

This year’s 60-second trailer will receive its debut television airing this evening during the Six One News on RTÉ One. For the first time on RTÉ, The Late Late Toy Show, airing on Friday, 5 December, will feature live Audio Description, making it more accessible and ensuring its magic can be enjoyed by all.

Live Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpretation will also be available on the night on the RTÉ News Channel and on RTÉ Player, promoting inclusivity for audiences across Ireland and further afield.

The spokesperson added: “Grab yourself a hot chocolate and have your favourite cosy pyjamas at the ready, because this year’s Toy Show is set to launch families into a galaxy of fun.”
