Police announce the name of a man whose body was recovered from river today

PSNI confirmed that the body of a man has been recovered from the River Roe this afternoon

PSNI have announced that the body of a man was taken out of the River Roe in Limavady this afternoon. They confirmed that formal identification has taken place following the body’s recovery.

The deceased man was identified as Ian Scott who was reported missing to police on Monday, November 3.

Police confirmed that Mr Scott’s family have been informed.

A spokesman from the force said their thoughts are with Mr Scott’s family.

They added: “We extend our thanks and appreciation to Community Rescue Servicecolleagues, and the local community for their efforts with co-ordinated searches and support.”
