Florida Rockers Rain City Drive to Make Their Australian Debut in 2026 – Backseat Mafia

by wellnessfitpro

American post-hardcore and emo outfit Rain City Drive will make their long-awaited Australian headline debut in March 2026, bringing their explosive live show to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Presented by TEG MJR, the tour marks the band’s first time performing for Australian fans after years of global touring and streaming success.

Joining them across all dates will be viral alt-rocker TX2 and rising Sydney metalcore act Melrose Avenue, rounding out a lineup that reflects the current wave of genre-fluid heavy music. The run begins at 170 Russell (Melbourne) on Friday 6 March, followed by Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Saturday 7 MarchBrisbane’s Triffid on Sunday 8 MarchThe Gov (Adelaide) on Wednesday 11 March, and Perth’s Magnet House on Friday 13 March.

Known for their energetic mix of post-hardcore grit and modern pop ambition, Rain City Drive have become a staple in the alternative scene, boasting over 1 million monthly Spotify listeners. Their breakout hits Talk to a Friend and Heavier from the 2020 album To Better Days have collectively clocked more than 100 million streams. In 2024, the band’s album Things Are Different Now pushed them even further, led by the singles Medicate Me and Frozen, which showcased a more refined yet emotionally charged sound.

Fronted by Matt McAndrew — The Voice US runner-up — the Florida-based band originally evolved from Sacramento outfit Slaves, later adopting the name Rain City Drive after relocating to the UK, inspired by Manchester’s nickname, “the Rainy City.” Their sound now straddles the line between emotional vulnerability and anthemic strength, making them one of the most compelling acts in the genre’s new wave.

With arena-ready hooks and an intensity built for both club stages and festival crowds, Rain City Drive’s Australian debut is set to be a defining moment for fans who’ve followed their evolution from post-hardcore outsiders to a polished, powerful force in alternative rock.
