BABYMETAL and BLOODYWOOD Unite for 2026 Australian Arena Tour – Backseat Mafia

by wellnessfitpro

Two of metal’s most boundary-pushing acts are joining forces next year. Japanese heavy icons BABYMETAL and Indian metal innovators BLOODYWOOD will tour Australian arenas in March 2026, marking a rare meeting of two bands reshaping what heavy music can sound like.

The tour begins on Thursday 12 March in Perth, before travelling through Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney, wrapping up in Brisbane on Sunday 22 March. It follows a huge year for BABYMETAL, whose latest album Metal Forth made history as the first all-Japanese release to reach the Billboard 200 Top 10, and features BLOODYWOOD on the track Kon! Kon!.

Formed in Tokyo in 2010, BABYMETAL built their reputation on fusing metal with Japanese idol influences, combining intense musicianship with precision choreography. Across five albums and countless collaborations — including Tom Morello, Electric Callboy, and Spiritbox — they’ve become a fixture on global stages without losing their sense of experimentation. Their live shows, praised for their energy and detail, have evolved into a space where metal performance feels both theatrical and meticulously human.

For Australian fans, this will be BABYMETAL’s most ambitious visit yet. After debuting locally at Good Things Festival 2018 and returning for a headline run in 2023, their 2026 arena shows promise to bring the same finely-tuned blend of heaviness and spectacle that has defined their international tours.

Joining them are BLOODYWOOD, whose blend of Indian folk, metal, and hip-hop has positioned them as one of the most original voices in the modern scene. Known for songs that move between humour, social commentary, and political fire, the New Delhi group have steadily grown from YouTube covers to Billboard-charting success and festival appearances across Europe. Their 2025 album Nu Delhi celebrates their home city’s energy and creativity while showcasing their evolving sound — one that continues to challenge expectations about what global metal can be.
