Emmerdale viewers were left heartbroken during Tuesday’s episode
Emmerdale fans were left feeling emotional after the ITV soap issued a huge limo crash update.
Back in February, 17 characters found their lives hanging in the balance following two separate limo accidents, which involved drivers Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
Charity’s vehicle plunged into an icy lake, with Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) tragically dying on impact.
Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) became the second villager to lose her life after losing too much blood in the ambulance, whilst Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) later died from hypothermia in hospital.
It subsequently emerged that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had unwittingly caused the crash after drugging his brother, Noah (Jack Downham), who had been wandering through the woods that evening, reports the Daily Star.

During Tuesday’s (October 28) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX, residents anxiously waited for news regarding the inquest into Amy, Leyla and Suzy’s deaths.
Following a late arrival at the depot, Amy’s mum, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), took a call from her son-in-law, Matty (Ash Palmisciano).
She asked Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) to cover for her so she could join Matty and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) at the shop.
The trio read through the coroner’s report on the limo crash together, before learning that their loved ones’ deaths had been determined as “accidental”.
“I guess that’s that then. Accidental death for everyone who passed in the crash,” Jacob disclosed. Kerry remarked: “We knew it was coming,” before Matty added: “Something about seeing it written down, it just feels so final.”
Kerry continued: “Well, at least now we can concentrate on all the good times. That’s what the girls would have wanted, isn’t it?”
Matty expressed his fear of losing Amy forever and his reluctance to let go of the “little things”. Kerry then suggested that they needed to keep discussing her to preserve her memory.
She then served everyone a glass of bubbly to honour Leyla and Amy, just as her boss Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) entered. Unaware of the emotional gravity of the situation, Jai promptly fired Kerry.
After watching the poignant scenes, numerous Emmerdale viewers took to social media to express their sorrow at the outcome of the coroner’s report.
“Loved tonight’s episode. That scene with Kerry, Jacob and Matty was so lovely,” one individual posted on X (formerly Twitter), while another commented: “Nice for Kerry, Matty and Jacob to finally get some closure. Heartbreaking though.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
