NI shopping centre hosting special Sensory Zone this half-term

Bookings need to be made in advance with all profits going to Autism NI

A Co Armagh shopping centre is hosting a designated Sensory Zone this half-term to take the stress out of time off school for young children with additional needs.

Rushmere Shopping Centre in Craigavon say their event “is specifically designed to support children with Autism or Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing a safe and inclusive space tailored to their needs”

A spokesperson added: “Our friendly team will be on hand to assist, and all who feel they would benefit from this Sensory Zone are welcome.

“All profits will be donated to AutismNI. There will also be a donation point for AutismNI.

“The Sensory Zone is located on our Upper Mezzanine, above Waterstones. To access via lifts, please press 1.

“Each slot is 30 minutes, and we ask that guests arrive 5 minutes before their time slot to allow time for check-in.”

The event runs from October 29 until November 11 sand is ticketed and fully staffed to prevent overcrowding and make sure everyone gets enough space and a great experience.

Tickets are priced at £5 per child (plus £1 booking fee) and you can book via the Rushmere website.
