The band appeared on RTE’s Late Late Show this week

Westlife recently marked an impressive 25 years in the music industry, much of which was spent as one of the world’s most successful boybands.

Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Brian McFadden first came together in 1998, quickly gathering a fanbase reminiscent of Beatlemania.

They stayed together until 2012, reunited in 2018, and have since released 11 number-one albums, selling over 55 million records globally. Each member has also pursued solo projects and other ventures outside of Westlife.

On Friday, Westlife announced additional dates for their homecoming concerts at Belfast’s SSE Arena and Dublin’s 3Arena earlier today.

Shane, Nicky and Kian joined Patrick Kielty on The Late Late Show this week to discuss their enduring success, the release of brand new music and their connection with Irish fans. Viewers were also treated to a world exclusive performance of their new single Chariot, along with a medley of their greatest hits.

Here’s a closer look at the band’s success – both on stage and in their bank accounts:

Nicky Byrne

Thanks to his Westlife career and TV and radio presenting gigs, Nicky Byrne joins his bandmates in the millionaire bracket. While his exact net worth isn’t publicly reported, estimates put it between €1 million and €5 million.

After Westlife’s 2012 split, Nicky kept busy with hosting roles on Dancing with the Stars, a Sunday show on 2fm, the National Lottery and Last Singer Standing. He lives in “millionaire’s row” in Malahide, Dublin, with his wife Georgina Ahern and their three children: twins Jay and Rocco, 18, and Gia, who turned 12 yesterday.

Kian Egan

I’m A Celebrity king of the jungle Kian Egan is reportedly the wealthiest of the lads. According to celebritynetworth.com, which reports estimates of the total assets and financial activities of celebrities, Kian has a staggering net worth of $20m (€17,150,000). It’s worth noting that such figures are estimates and may not fully reflect the actual finances of the band members.

In addition to his success with Westlife, Kian, released a solo album in 2014 and was one of the four coaches on The Voice of Ireland. He’s been a presenter on This Morning and also bagged the crown on I’m a Celebrity in 2013. Kian is happily married to former Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert, and they share three children.

The celebrity couple reside in a stunning oceanfront mansion in Sligo. Kian once shared with the Irish Independent: “As I got older and we had children, I just really wanted to be part of a community and I wanted my children to feel like they’re part of a community because I travelled so much as a kid working that finding that place where you belong was a weird thing to me.”

Mark Fehily

Sligo-born Mark Feehily will not participate in Westlife’s 25th anniversary shows due to health reasons. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he is worth $16 million (€13.7m).

Mark, one of the original members of Westlife predecessor Six As One, has enjoyed a successful solo career, opening for Mariah Carey and Wet Wet Wet and writing songs for artists including Emeli Sande and Ronan Keating.

He came out in 2005 and is engaged to Cailean O’Neill. The couple share a daughter, Layla, born via surrogate in 2019.

Shane Filan

Shane Filan is reportedly worth about €3 million, according to celebritynetworth.com. Shane has admitted that the band were “foolish” with their money, splurging on watches and cars in their early days.

Despite releasing three solo studio albums, his property ventures left him bankrupt. In around 2012, Shane’s company, Shafin Developments, which he co-owned with his brother, found itself in debt of €23 million due to Ireland’s harsh recession.

Shane and Gillian have three children: Nicole, Patrick and Shane. Gillian is related to Kian through marriage, making Shane and Kian family.

Brian McFadden

Brian McFadden left Westlife in 2004 to pursue a solo career and has an estimated net worth of $18 million (€15.5m). The Dublin-born dad of three has appeared on Dancing on Ice, Stepping Out, Jump and was a judge on Australia’s Got Talent (2010 – 2012). In 2016, he joined Boyzlife, a fusion of Westlife and Boyzone.

He was first married to Kerry Katona, with whom he shares two daughters, then later to Australian singer Delta Goodrem and Irish model Vogue Williams. He married PE teacher Danielle Parkinson earlier this year, and they welcomed a daughter in 2021.
