Emmerdale fans are certain they know who will save April Windsor from the clutches of Ray and Celia
Emmerdale enthusiasts believe they’ve cracked the code on who will come to April Windsor’s rescue.
Viewers of the soap will remember that recently, April and her boyfriend Dylan Penders have been manipulated by Ray Walters and his mother Celia Daniels under the guise of repaying their so-called “debts”, which is in fact a ploy to groom them into drug dealing.
In the latest episodes, Celia was revealed as the criminal mastermind behind the local drug network run by Ray, showing a much darker side to her character.
Demonstrating her domineering nature, Celia hit teenager April and issued a stern ultimatum about the rules of drug dealing.
This incident followed an episode where April’s brother Leo ended up in hospital after ingesting an ecstasy tablet that April had accidentally lost while on her way to meet Ray, reports the Daily Star.
Celia threatened April with danger to her life unless she lied to the authorities about how she came into possession of the illegal drugs, a demand the schoolgirl quickly agreed to.
As the plot thickens, Friday’s episode brought more disturbing scenes. In the most recent episode, Ray informed April that he was sending her on another job, pressuring her to accept the task or he would sell her debt.
Ray whisked April off to a hotel, providing her with cocaine for a ‘valuable client’ and encouraging her to have a drink. As a nervous April made her entrance, Ray’s sinister client, Tim, was thrilled as he accepted the cocaine and attempted to coerce April into taking the drug, along with some vodka.
Before long, April found herself cornered in a bedroom with Tim…
Simultaneously, Dawn Fletcher was revealing her own harrowing past to Joe Tate. Dawn’s history echoes April’s current predicament and as she bravely relayed her past traumas and vowed to protect her daughter, Clemmie, it served as a voiceover to April’s scenes.
Fortunately, a quick-witted April managed to flee just in time, but it wasn’t long before Celia caught up with her and began gaslighting her about the incident.
With Friday’s episode centring on April and Dawn, soap fans are hopeful that Dawn could be the one to rescue April, recognising the signs of what the teenager is experiencing.
One social media user commented: “Well I really liked that episode I’m hoping Dawn will be the one who saves April”, to which another responded: “That’s what I was thinking as well”. Another fan speculated: “Could Dawn be the 1 to save April then do we reckon?” while another viewer chimed in: “Yes I am hoping so! !”.
