Man fuming at waiter after what arrives when he orders pint of beer

by wellnessfitpro

The man didn’t think much of what would arrive in front of his eyes when he ordered a pint of beer at a restaurant – but even other people were equally horrified

There’s nothing more exciting than ordering a pint of beer with every meal you eat while on holiday. Enjoying some booze is certainly Irish culture, although one man was recently left mortified with his experience with a beer.

Posting on Reddit, the bloke claimed he had been on holiday in Japan but was recently ordering food at an Italian restaurant. He was keen to enjoy a pint of lager but couldn’t quite understand what arrived in front of his eyes when the waiter presented him with his beer. Now it’s pretty standard to be left confused when you receive a lager in anything but a Pilsner glass, and the same goes for a Guinness.

In the post, the caption read: “Is this pint I was served abroad acceptable?” The snap shows a pint of lager with a massive head of foam in a Guinness glass.

Below the picture, the drinker added: “Got served this beer at an Italian restaurant in Japan.”

Meanwhile people couldn’t quite believe their eyes as to what the man had been given.

One enquired: “Did it come with a flake?” Another added: “Do you want a flake with that? Where’s the rest of the pint?”

Someone else piped up: “It looks daft in a Guinness glass, but some places in Europe actually serve them like that! I think central Europe maybe? It’s mental.”

One individual commented: “A beer served in a Irish glass, in an Italian restaurant in Japan.”

Another quipped: “That Guinness looks a bit weird to me mate.”

It’s considered bad etiquette to serve other beers in a Guinness glass, since it’s specifically designed for the creamy head and unique pouring method of the Irish stout.

Moreover, serving a different beer in the Irish glass can adversely affect the taste, scent, and overall drinking experience of the non-Guinness beer.

The Guinness glass boasts a distinctive shape, crafted to accommodate the thick, creamy head of the black stuff.

Using a branded glass for a different beer can be viewed as disrespectful to both the brewery and the beer itself.

Some might even argue that it’s a matter of respect for the beer’s intended serving method and the brand’s reputation.

Typically, a pub might serve a pint of beer in a different glass if they’ve run out of specific glasses or they’re in the dishwasher.
