Post-hardcore mainstays Thrice will return to Australia and New Zealand in 2026, performing songs from their forthcoming album Horizons/West alongside a setlist that spans more than two decades of music. The shows will mark the first time fans hear the new material live, tracing the band’s evolution from their late-’90s origins to their current, more expansive sound.
Formed in California in 1998, Thrice built their reputation on unflinching honesty and experimentation, merging hardcore urgency with progressive structure. Albums like The Artist in the Ambulance and Vheissu helped redefine the boundaries of post-hardcore, bridging intensity with introspection. Their work has been celebrated by NME and Rock Sound alike — both naming The Artist in the Ambulance among the most enduring emo and modern rock albums of the 2000s.
Across their career, the lineup of Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie Breckenridge, and Riley Breckenridge has remained unbroken — a rare continuity that underpins their creative identity. “It’s always amazing when people say the music got them through something difficult, or became the soundtrack to a pivotal moment in their lives,” says Kensrue. That sentiment captures the quiet power of Thrice’s music: it isn’t built for spectacle, but for connection.
Horizons/West continues that thread — a meditation on change, dissonance, and endurance. Fans can register now for early access to pre-sale tickets, with the early bird sale opening Friday 17 October at 12pm AEDT.
