“After years of introducing other comedians on stage, it’s finally my turn”

A Co Antrim comedian is preparing to tick a huge moment off his ‘Bucket List’ next summer.

After years of gigging across Northern Ireland, running the popular Kiwi’s Comedy Club in Portrush and supporting some of the country’s biggest names in stand-up, Gary Pollock is stepping onto his hometown stage for his biggest night yet.

The Ballymena-born comedian has announced his debut solo show, Bucket List, will take place in the town’s Braid Art Centre on May 22, 2026.

His debut follows a sold-out preview performance in Portrush in August.

Bucket List will see Gary mix sharp stand-up, storytelling and outrageous tales from life, work, family and growing up in Ballymena in the 90s, all delivered with his “trademark wit and relatability”.

The show will be staged in The Braid’s main theatre space with a capacity of up to 400, following in the footsteps of top acts such as Neil Delamere and Tim McGarry, who are also appearing there in May 2026.

Speaking about the upcoming Ballymena show, Gary said: “I’ve always wanted to bring a proper solo show back home.

“After years of introducing other comedians on stage, it’s finally my turn.

“The Braid is such a stunning venue, so to stand there in front of a hometown crowd will be a real bucket list moment for me.”
