The suspects demanded the safe and fled with an employee’s handbag
Two males armed with a household knife threatened staff at a South Belfast shop this morning before allegedly stealing an employee’s handbag.
Police are investigating the incident at a shop on Lisburn Road at around 11am on Sunday, October 12, where it was reported that two males with their faces covered entered the premises armed with a household knife and demanded staff hand over the safe.
The staff was not stolen by the pair however they are believed to have fled with a female employee’s handbag.

Police have said that officers will remain in the area today as they search for the suspects and have asked if anyone who noticed two males acting suspiciously in the Lisburn Road, Mount Prospect Park and Ulsterville Avenues areas to contact them.
Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: “Our investigation is underway and our officers will remain in the wider area today as we pursue these suspects. As part of our enquiries, we need your help. Anyone who noticed two males acting suspiciously in the Lisburn Road, Mount Prospect Park and Ulsterville Avenues areas, we’d ask that you contact us on 101 523 12/10/25. “Or if you have any dash-cam or doorbell camera footage covering these areas, please review. This could be information that’s key to our ongoing enquiries.
