The business said they won’t be able to open for the foreseeable future
A Co Armagh chip shop has said it is “absolutely devastated” after a fire at the premises.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were called to Gordy’s II on Gilford Road in Portadown on Thursday morning, October 9, shortly after 5.10am.
Two appliances from Portadown Fire Station and one appliance from Lurgan Fire Station attended the incident.

A NIFRS statement added: “Firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial premises on Gilford Road, Portadown.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 1 jet and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and the incident was dealt with by 7.16am.”
In a statement posted on Facebook, the business said: “We are absolutely devastated that we won’t be able to open for the foreseeable future.
“In the meantime please visit Chipped at Kernan for your usual fix. We want to say a massive thanks to the emergency services for such a quick response.
“And [a] massive thank you to all our customers we’ll be back.”
