“You are my world, my boy”- Dad leads tributes to tragic toddler killed in accident

Theo McEnroe, understood to be under the age of two, tragically died following an accident at Rathmintin in Jobstown on Tuesday afternoon

The infant boy who tragically died after a road incident near his home in Dublin has been identified as Theo McEnroe.

The child, believed to be under two years old, passed away following an accident at Rathmintin in Jobstown on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services were called to the scene, and he was taken from there to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin, where he was pronounced dead.

In a heartfelt tribute to his son on social media, Theo’s father Shane wrote: “You are my world, my boy, I’ll forever love you son, I love you so much, this feels like a bad dream.”

Shane also shared Theo’s funeral details this morning, confirming he will be laid to rest on Saturday.

His RIP.ie notice reads: “The death has occurred of baby Theo McEnroe, tragically, surrounded by his heartbroken parents Ciara and Shane, sadly missed by his loving sisters Isabelle and Fiadh, loving grandparents Amanda and Jerry, Linda, Stephen, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, extended family and neighbours. May baby Theo Rest in Peace.”, reports Dublin Live.

“Funeral will take place on Saturday morning 11th of October at 10am Saint Thomas’s Church Jobstown followed to Newlands Cross for burial. Baby Theo will be reposing in O’Dwyers and Sons on Friday from 2pm to 6pm for family and friends.”

A GoFundMe page has been established for Theo’s family, stating: “On the 7th of October we suffered a deep loss in our family. Baby Theo brought so much joy to his family and everyone that knew him. If you could help out in any way we would be so grateful. Condolences to his Mammy, Daddy, sisters, grandparents, extended family and friends.”

People Before Profit Councillor Kay Keane, a resident of Jobstown, spoke to Dublin Live on Wednesday, expressing her support for the family during this challenging time. She said: “What happened is an awful, awful tragedy.

“My heart is broken for the family. It is such a terrible thing to happen in our community. I’m heartbroken and shocked.

“I’m sending my condolences to the family. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through.”
