“There is a whole generation who still want to go out and dance, but do not feel represented in most venues anymore”
A weekly over-30s club night is preparing to open in Belfast later this month.
With club culture evolving and audiences craving something more curated, Alibi Belfast is about to get a “game-changing” new weekend format.
Entertainment brand Popaganda is set to transform the venue into ‘Club Popaganda’ – a weekend takeover that is hoping t reshape the city’s nightlife.

At the heart of it all is ‘SO30’, the UK and Ireland’s first weekly Over-30s experience, running from 5pm to 10pm – the new club night launches on Saturday, October 25.
A spokesperson for Popaganda said: “After years of producing sold-out events across Northern Ireland and the Republic, the Popaganda team are finally putting down permanent weekend roots again in Belfast.
“The goal is simple: create a space for grown-up partygoers who still love the music, atmosphere and energy of a proper night out. This is early evening clubbing with maximum vibes.”
From November, Club Popaganda will run with a multi-format weekend experience:
- The Day Club: bottomless brunches, themed day parties, sing-alongs and fun formats across the full weekend (everyone welcome)
- SO30 Club: Saturday evenings strictly Over 30s with nostalgic themes, great DJs, a mature vibe and no egos
- Popaganda World: launching November 29th for the festive season and late-night transport, this after-hours party brings floorfillers, guilty pleasures and unexpected moments (everyone welcome)
Sanjeev Passi, Director of Popaganda said: “There is a whole generation who still want to go out and dance, but do not feel represented in most venues anymore.
“This is about reclaiming that space and doing it with style, creativity and fun. We do not take anything too seriously!”
A rotating calendar of Popaganda’s most loved brands, plus brand new concepts for Belfast, is already lined up:
- Mamma Mia The Live Experience : a tribute by the DynamosNI with party hosts and DJs
- Craics 90™ : bottomless day party
- Seshioke™ : mass karaoke
- Club Tropaganda : the 80s experience with bottomless punch
- Quiet Riot : multi-channel silent disco
- Poppin’ Off / Game On : fun, chaos, music and huge giveaways
- Showgirls : Taylor x Sabrina live tributes fused with DJ sets
- Craics All Country : for the country fans
- Born Slippy : indie and dance crossover DJ sets
Sanjeev continued: “This is more than a club night.
“It is a full weekend experience, built for people like us. People who want the memories and the magic back without compromising on comfort or energy. And again, we are not taking anything too seriously!
“Located in Bradbury Place, Shaftesbury Square, transport connections are only a few minutes walk away. The Botanic station is three three-minute walk, and Grand Central Hub is just ten minutes walk.”
Sanjeev Passi, Director of Popaganda, brings nearly three decades of experience to the scene. He has been responsible for many of the country’s biggest nights and brands, shaping Belfast nightlife through legacy venues like The Box and beyond.
