Kim Kardashian just took “like mother, like daughter” to a whole new level. On Oct. 4, the Skims founder arrived at Paris Fashion Week in a sleek black pixie haircut that instantly reminded us of her iconic mother, Kris Jenner. The look, styled by longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton, was on full display as Kardashian attended the Maison Margiela spring/summer 2026 show and the BoF 500 Gala where she was honored as one of this year’s fashion tastemakers.
At Margiela, Kardashian paired the short wig with a gray trench coat, black ribbon choker, and leather boots while sitting front row beside sister Kylie Jenner. Later that evening, she switched into a white halter gown for the BoF 500 event, keeping her jet-black hair combed forward with soft, wispy bangs. On Instagram, she captioned a close-up selfie “PARIS PIXIE,” tagging Appleton and earning instant family approval: Kris commented with a cheeky GIF of herself, while Khloé Kardashian joked, “Okkkk baby KJ.”
While Kardashian’s latest pixie moment may not be permanent, it fits perfectly into fall 2025’s short-hair revival. Cropped cuts have been everywhere this year, with stars like Florence Pugh and Zoey Deutch proving that less really can be more. The appeal is easy to see: the pixie feels fresh, unfussy, confident, and a clean break from the long layers and extensions that have ruled Hollywood for years.
“The pixie cut is totally chic and no-fuss when it comes to styling,” celebrity hairstylist Graham Nation previously told Popsugar. For easy styling, “while wet, apply a detangling spray and rough dry into place. Once dry, add a small amount of pomade for a light hold that will last all day.” We like the Amika Wizard Detangling Hair Primer ($32) and the Briogeo Style + Treat Hair Styling Sculpting Cream ($26) for this.

It’s no secret that Kardashian and Appleton love to experiment with bold new hair looks. In May 2024, she revealed on “The Kardashians” that she’d been wearing a brunette wig to conceal her platinum transformation ahead of the Met Gala. A few months later, she switched things up with a fiery red wig, followed by a Pamela Anderson-inspired blond style with bangs that December. Most recently, in June 2025, she embraced full retro glam in her Skims x Roberto Cavalli campaign, wearing a curly blond wig modeled after 1960s Italian cinema icons.
Kardashian’s version, of course, comes with a twist. By channeling Kris Jenner’s signature crop, she turned a runway-ready beauty moment into a personal moment. After all, when it comes to owning a look (and the room), no one does it quite like the original momager.
