The much loved country crooner says he still has plenty of things to do
Daniel O’Donnell has shared his plans for the future following his decision to take a step back from touring.
The country crooner has previously explained how he won’t be on the road as much as it can be hard for him to recover from allergy problems and chest infections.
Daniel s adamant he’s not retiring and will still be doing “plenty” of work. Following the release of his latest album, the Donegal singer will take a break from hitting the road.

“Next year is for a wee bit of time off the road touring, but we are going to come back,” Daniel said on the Late Late Country Special.
“We’re planning to do shows again, but just have a wee rest. It’s just the right thing to do at this time, okay?”
Asked on the Late Late about what he will get up to during this break, Daniel explained his time off will mainly consist of “golf and bridge”.
But he will still be doing a handful of live performances.
He added to host Patrick Kielty: “I’ll be performing at American Dunloe festival and other festival appearances throughout the year. So there’s plenty to be doing; just not touring.”
Last month, Daniel revealed his official fan club is coming to an end.
His long-running fan club will close down at the end of this year, meaning that the next edition of his eponymous fan magazine, which will be distributed to club members in December, will be his last.
Writing in the penultimate magazine, Daniel explained: “As many of you probably know, I have decided to take a break from touring at the end of the year to recharge my batteries.
“While I’m in very good health, thank God, I have had some issues with allergies and recurring chest infections recently. So I decided it was best to take some time out and focus on my well-being.
“It’s a necessary step to recharge and get myself back to full health. I do want to reassure everyone again that I am very well. It’s just the touring makes it a little more difficult to getting back to 100%.
“Again, as I said before, this is not retirement. This is just time off!”
