PGA Tour professionals Matt Kuchar and Niklas Norgaard managed to ace the same hole on the same day at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi

In an extraordinary turn of events at the Sanderson Farms Championship, PGA Tour golfers Matt Kuchar and Niklas Norgaard both scored a hole-in-one on the same hole on the same day at the Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi.

For Norgaard, it was his first ace on the PGA Tour; however, due to the obscured putting surface on this particular hole, he didn’t get to see his ball drop into the cup. His celebrations were somewhat subdued, although he did eventually raise both arms after retrieving his ball from the hole.

The Danish golfer’s achievement was met with warm applause from the spectators. Shortly after, Kuchar hit a shot almost identical to Norgaard’s.

His tee shot landed roughly 12 yards from the hole, before rolling up the green and dropping into the hole.

The seasoned professional also managed a birdie on the preceding par-five hole and concluded his opening round with consecutive birdies, finishing four-under and tied for 13th place, reports the Mirror.

Norgaard, on the other hand, followed his ace with a bogey, and another on the eighth hole, ending the front nine even.

He also played the back nine even after a couple of birdies and bogeys, finishing the opening day tied for 88th place.

The 33-year-old is just over a year removed from winning the British Masters at The Belfry, his first victory on the European Tour. Kuchar, meanwhile, is a much more seasoned player.

He was the runner-up to Jordan Spieth at the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, just a year after securing a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The experienced American golfer, who once held the World No. 4 spot, has been a member of four Ryder Cup teams from 2010 to 2016, with his sole triumph occurring in the final year.
