Plans for signage at the centre have been approved by Belfast City Council

A popular brand could be set to return to Victoria Square Shopping Centre.

Levi’s had applied to Belfast City Council for signage to be put above a currently vacant unit in the popular shopping centre which has now been approved.

Plans suggest the American clothing company, known worldwide for its Levi’s brand of denim jeans, are hoping to open on the upper ground level of Victoria Square.

Levi’s previously operated out of a unit on the lower ground level before it closed due to the company’s “broader retail strategy” back in 2018.

At the time, a spokesperson for Levi’s said: “We can confirm that Levi’s closed its store in Belfast on January 31.

“The decision to close the store was made as part of Levi’s broader retail strategy, which focuses on ensuring our stores offer the best brand experience for the consumer, in the right location.

“We will continue monitoring the retail landscape in Belfast for future opportunities in the market.”

It joins a host of new stores planning to open at Victoria Square over the next number of months.

Fashion retailer Breshka is preparing to open its first store in Northern Ireland at Victoria Square alongside popular beauty store Space NK who are set to move into a ground-floor unit very soon.

Popular Indian street food chain Mowgli is also preparing to open at the shopping centre, adding more diversity to the food and drink line-up currently on offer.
