Emmerdale viewers have been left stunned as Kev’s true identity and his link to Robert Sugden is finally revealed.

The newcomer, portrayed by Chris Coghill, has arrived in the ITV soap and within moments of stepping foot in the village it’s evident he’s here to wreak havoc as he’s determined to track down Robert.

During Friday’s (September 26) instalment Robert received a text from a mysterious person, identified only as ‘K’, which left him feeling troubled.

The message pressed Robert to “stop ignoring” him, causing Robert to survey his surroundings for any possible watchers.

In tonight’s episode (September 29), viewers finally discover who ‘K’ is as he succeeds in hunting down Robert and quickly finds himself welcomed into his residence.

Fans witness ‘K’ turning up in the village and requesting directions to find Robert. Robert opens the door to find a very familiar face – Kev.

After checking around to see if anyone has spotted them together, he rapidly closes the door, making it clear they know each other.

Viewers learnt more about Robert’s time in jail as Kev’s real identity was exposed. Shockingly, Kev wed Robert whilst they were imprisoned together.

Now released on day leave, Kev’s eager to continue where they stopped and even desires a meeting with Victoria.

The circumstances are extremely uncomfortable for Robert as he has already been anticipating reconnecting with Aaron. Just as Robert seems to be contemplating a gentle way to let Kev down, the newcomer in the village reveals that he’s terminally ill and only has months left to live.

Robert is completely taken aback by Kev’s heartbreaking news, which could influence his future actions.

The situation takes another twist when Victoria, Robert’s sister, discovers them holding hands and immediately demands an explanation.

She insists on knowing the truth, leading Robert to disclose Kev’s identity, leaving her utterly stunned. Viewers at home quickly took to social media to share their reactions to the dramatic scene.
