We cannot wait to see what happens in Blue Lights 3
Blue Lights is back and things are getting darker and bolder in series three. The hit BBC police drama, filmed and set in Northern Ireland, is back tonight, September 29 for the highly anticipated new series.
With the full series already on the BBC iPlayer, some eager fans may already be ahead of the action. However, if you are the kind who loves to tune in when it airs on TV, 9pm may feel like it can’t come quickly enough.

If you plan on tuning in to Blue Lights tonight, you may be scrambling to remember all the details of how the show ended last year.
Don’t panic – we have summarised how Blue Lights series two ended so you can refresh your memory before tuning in.
How did Blue Lights series 2 end?
The final episode of Blue Lights 2 kicks off right from the point that Lee Thompson’s nephew Henry shoots the gun through the back window of Stevie and Grace’s police car.
Thankfully, we didn’t have another Gerry moment when episode six starts and both of them are fine.
After an intense stand-off between Grace, Henry and Stevie, Grace secures the gun and gives a terrified Henry a hug.
In an aim to keep the people of Mount Eden on his side and misdirect anger, he edits the video fo Henry to make it seem that he has been swarmed by armed police for playing with a toy gun.
After Henry comes clean about the gun, the police feel they are coming ever closer to finding out who murdered loyalist gang leader Jim ‘Dixie’ Dixon – however, as Lee’s henchman Craig has a license for the gun and Lee claims he knows nothing about it, it is looking like they will be free to go.
With tensions already mounting in the area, the video is the final straw that drives residents into riot mode.
Finally, a break in the case sees Craig linked to Dixie’s murder, but as one last token of loyalty, he claims to have acted alone when arrested, leaving Lee free to walk the streets once again
After trying to stop the rioting, Uncle Rab dies of a heart attack in front of the crowds, the final straw for Lee’s sister Mags to tell him to pack his bags and get out of Mount Eden for good.
In Jen’s legacy storyline, Happy Kelly is offered £80k to settle the case involving the killing of his father and brother out of court with no admission of liability.
He donates the “blood money” to the soup kitchen before meeting with Robin Graham, the retired officer involved in the cover-up, where he forgives him for his role and shakes his hand in a poignant scene.
The series ends with the gang enjoying a deserved night off in the pub where Stevie and Grace finally get together after sharing the long-awaited kiss earlier in the episode.
