Antrim ace Allen ended a 19-month wait for a 12th ranking crown last weekend at the English Open

Mark Allen’s nail-biting English Open success has dragged him inside the top six earners on the world snooker tour this season. The Antrim man will not be picking up any prizemoney this week after being knocked out of the British Open by Welsh veteran Mark Williams. The former world champion beat Allen 4-3 on Thursday.

That event puts another £100,000 first prize on the line. With that in mind, the team at OLBG put together a list of the highest paid snooker players so far this season.

Allen is currently sitting sixth, earning £150,000 this year alone – two thirds of that coming at the English Open Aussie ace Neil Robertson banked £500,000 for his success at the Saudi Arabia Masters earlier this season and is the runaway leader at the top of the one-year list based on cash earnings.

The Saudi event and the World Championship are the most lucrative for players.

The highest earning snooker player of all-time Ronnie O’Sullivan is one place behind Robertson, yet the gap between the two is nearly double O’Sullivan’s annual winnings.

2025 Snooker Tour earnings:

  1. Neil Robertson – £522,900
  2. Ronnie O’Sullivan – £268,333
  3. Kyren Wilson – £268,100
  4. Xiao Guodong – £180,400
  5. Ali Carter – £169,400
  6. Mark Allen£150,000
  7. Mark Selby – £133,000
  8. Chris Wakelin – £126,900
  9. Elliot Slessor – £123,700
  10. Zhao Xintong – £113,400

Antrim ace Allen ended a 19-month wait for a 12th ranking crown last weekend at the English Open, which puts him level with former world champion Shaun Murphy on the all-time list.

And the Pistol, who won three titles in both the 2022/2023 season and 2023/24 campaign, is targeting another big showing this term after striking early.

“My best snooker is more than capable than mixing it with the likes of Judd [Trump] and Kyren [Wilson] 100 per cent,” added Allen. “They’re the two players who have regularly been winning tournaments in the past couple of years. The difference lately is the consistency hasn’t been there for me.

“I fancy myself whenever it gets down to the one table, no matter who I’m playing against. I feel like it brings the best out of me. This is what we play for. You want to play the best players on the biggest stages.”
