PC Swirling has been a firm fixture in the village for almost two decades, but what do we know about the actor who plays the local police officer?
Thursday’s episode of Emmerdale, now available on ITV X, was packed with high drama.
Fans will remember that characters April Windsor, portrayed by Amelia Flanagan, and Dylan Penders, played by Fred Kettle, have found themselves entangled in the criminal world of drug dealer Ray Walters, brought to life by Joe Absolom.
In Thursday’s instalment, April narrowly avoids being caught as she makes another drug delivery for Ray, arriving at a notoriously sketchy car park.
She encounters a young lad but is soon spotted by patrolling PC Swirling who insists on escorting her back to the village, while she conceals her true motives.
Later, PC Swirling drops April off in the village, leaving her stepmother Rhona Goskirk puzzled and anxious as she seeks explanations.
April concocts a cover story, but will it be enough to deceive PC Swirling and Rhona, who are suspicious about her presence at the infamous dodgy car park?, reports the Daily Star.
With PC Swirling taking centre stage in Thursday’s episode, viewers might be curious to know more about the actor behind the beloved village officer.

Who plays PC Swirling and what else has he been in?

He made a guest appearance on Coronation Street in 2005 as a driver for two episodes. Five years later, he returned to the cobbles when he took on the role of a photographer.
Music career
In 2022, Andy shared his latest accomplishment with fans on his Facebook page. He posted a YouTube video by indie band Courting, proudly displaying his work.
Alongside the video link, he wrote: “Andy Moore starring in a music video for indie band Courting.” During the coronavirus pandemic, Andy created and starred in a brief 10-minute sketch.
The Last Lockdown Sketch was uploaded onto YouTube with a description that reads: “When your online consultation with your doctor goes one massive step further.
“The doctor instructs his patient through a step by step major operation procedure over Zoom.”
He added in the caption: “Hasn’t the last couple of years been strange and frustrating. As a mark of coming out of it this film ridicules the weird time we have just come out of with elaborate exaggeration and a rather dark twist.”
Viewers were charmed by the film, and one admirer took to the comments section to write a heartfelt note: “That was excellent I was recommended by our mutual friend Susie Cakl to check it out my partner Kim really enjoyed it as she also loves you in Emmerdale.”
