Emmerdale fans are convinced they know what John Sugden will do next as Aaron Dingle wakes up from his coma
Emmerdale has delivered a massive development for Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) who has been battling for his life after being dragged over a cliff edge by his husband, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
This week on the ITV soap, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) seemed to become wary of her half-brother John as she spotted his suspicious conduct whilst at the hospital.
It was Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) that has been set up for Aaron and John’s cliff incident as nobody believed it was killer John who is the perpetrator.
On Tuesday (September 16), murderer John wished Aaron wouldn’t regain consciousness from his coma so crimes would remain hidden.

Whilst standing beside Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), John witnessed the doctor having a grave discussion with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). Only Victoria noticed how swift John was to hint that dire news was approaching.
Nevertheless, Aaron’s condition was getting better and he was anticipated to be awakened leaving John anxious, reports the Daily Star.
On Wednesday, Aaron emerged from his coma and managed to form a sentence and said: “John has got Mackenzie”, who remains imprisoned in the underground bunker.
Victoria and Chas quickly realised Aaron was speaking the truth as John discharged himself and persuaded Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) to transport him away from the hospital.
Victoria rushed to Cain’s car to prevent John from departing but didn’t reach it in time. Meanwhile, John quipped: “Maybe I should start running now then, no one will even notice I’m gone.”
Emmerdale viewers are now certain John will flee after murdering Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), attempting to kill Aaron, and taking Mack prisoner.
Posting on X, one viewer penned: “We’re so close to finally having John exposed for everything he’s done! Let’s hope Mackenzie is still alive and John doesn’t get away on the run before it’s too late, time is ticking for you, John! #Emmerdale.”
Another commented: “IT’S NEARLY OVER. JOHN’S DOWNFALL IS SO CLOSE *disclaimer: This being soap land we’ll undoubtedly have him escaping and trying to catch him for a while #emmerdale #Robron.”
A third suggested: “Do y’all think John dies? I think maybe he manages to wake up just in time to escape when the whole truth comes out about him, they go looking for him but his hospital bed is empty – ending next week’s Friday on a cliffhanger about him being out and about #robron #emmerdale.
“Tick tock John, your comeuppance is coming……#Emmerdale”, posted another.
Is Oliver Farnworth leaving Emmerdale?
Star Oliver Farnworth arrived on the soap as the enigmatic serial killer John Sugden last summer and has subsequently become central to all the chaos unfolding in the village.
His “hero complex” has led him to endanger multiple lives, purely so he can rescue them.
However, the plan backfired when he poisoned Nate who perished suddenly just moments afterwards. John disposed of Nate’s body in the river, where it was later discovered by police months later.
Believing he had successfully framed Owen for the murder, John thought he had escaped justice.
Just last month, John attacked Mackenzie with an arrow and has since held him captive. The paramedic also attempted to kill his husband Aaron after discovering his affair with Robert.
Could this be the end for John? Emmerdale fans will have to stay tuned.
In August, rumours circulated that John’s time in the village was nearing its climax, “It’s the beginning of the end for John”, a source reportedly told The Sun.
“He’s got away with so much but he’s about to make a fatal mistake that sees him exposed for what he is,” the same source revealed to the publication.”
They further added: “Obviously Oliver knew that a character like John had a shelf life and that’s rapidly approaching.”
