Officers remain at the scene this morning
Five people have been arrested following “sustained violence and disorder” where one woman was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver and three other people were injured in Dungannon.
Police were called to the Oaks Avenue area of the Co Tyrone town on Sunday, September 14 following reports of several people fighting with weapons.
It was reported that several people were fighting with weapons with four people being taken to hospital, including one woman who was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver.

Two women, aged 35 and 33, and man aged 31, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, which include grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Two other men were also arrested at the scene for offences unrelated to the violence.
Inspector Ryan said: “Just after 2.25pm, we received several reports that a number of people were fighting with weapons in the Oaks Avenue area of the town.
“Four people were taken to hospital for treatment, including one woman who was stabbed to the head with a screwdriver.
“Thankfully, at this stage, it doesn’t appear that any of the injuries are life-threatening.
“A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, while a woman aged 33 has been arrested for grievous bodily harm and a man aged 31 was arrested on suspicion of v. The man was also arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences. Two others were arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences unrelated to the day’s violence.
“Officers remain at the scene this morning as our enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. Local residents will continue to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
“This was a terrifying experience for neighbours and those who witnessed these events, and we would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference 739 of 14/09/25.

On Sunday, a local councillor said it was “disheartening” to learn of the incident.
In a joint statement published on social media, Sinn Fein Mid Ulster councillors Deirdre Varsani and Dominic Molloy said it is “very disheartening to see that there has been an incident in Oaks Avenue development”.
The statement added: “Our thoughts are with anyone impacted and we encourage anyone with helpful information to pass this to the relevant authorities.”
The councillors’ statement added: “There will be an ongoing presence to carry out any necessary work etc. As always, further details will emerge and we thank the wider community for their understanding.”
