A male matching the description was detained by PSNI Interceptors around five minutes after a 999 calll
A woman who was home alone with her toddler disturbed a male intruder in her kitchen on Saturday, police say.
The incident, described by police as a burglary, happened in the Steeple Road area of Antrim town on Saturday.
The male made off when he was disturbed by the householder. A suspect was arrested by PSNI Interceptors from Sprucefield around five minutes after a 999 call was made.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI in the Antrim and Newtownabbey policing district said: “Interceptors from Sprucefield were in the Antrim area earlier today [Saturday] when they were made aware of a Burglary that had recently happened in the Steeple Road area of the Town.
“The female householder, who was in the home with her toddler disturbed a male in the kitchen of the house, the male made off and police were called.
“Approximately five minutes after making the 999 call a male matching the description given by the householder was detained by Interceptors a short distance away on Oriel Road.”
The spokesperson, in a social media post on Saturday, added: “This male was arrested on Suspicion of Burglary and is now assisting Police with their enquiries.
“Due to the prompt actions and accurate description given by the home owner this male was detained before they could get away from the area.”
