According to the PSNI, the car “failed to stop for police” and allegedly “proceeded to drive dangerously, overtaking multiple cars on long sweeping bends in the oncoming lane and failing to stop at junctions”
The PSNI has issued an appeal after the pursuit of a vehicle in Co Down.
Police say on Sunday, August 3, the Ards and North Down District Support Team (DST) were on mobile patrol in the Comber area at around 1pm.
According to the PSNI, “a blue coloured 2015 VW Polo, displaying R Plates, failed to stop for Police” on the Ballygowan Road near to Railway Street.

It’s alleged that it “proceeded to drive dangerously, overtaking multiple cars on long sweeping bends in the oncoming lane and failing to stop at junctions, not to mention the high speeds putting other motorists, pedestrians and themselves in danger”.
In a Facebook post, Police Ards & North Down added: “This continued towards Moneyreagh and Ballygowan.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this to contact us. We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have dashcam footage of the incident or if you were directly affected by the actions of the dangerous driving to contact us on 101 quoting Police Ref: CC697 03/08/25.”
