Man arrested ‘following lengthy stand-off’ in Crossgar

Police say a man in his 50s has been arrested “following a lengthy stand-off” in Co Down.

The PSNI attended a property in the William Street area of Crossgar on Wednesday evening, July 30, following a report of an assault earlier in the week.

A police statement added: “When officers arrived, the man barricaded himself inside and became hostile.

“Following a lengthy stand-off, the man, aged in his 50s, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and was taken to police custody where he remains at this time.”
